About Utah's EMS System
The Bureau of Emergency Medical Services and Preparedness (BEMSP) is the lead agency for Utah’s EMS system and public health and medical preparedness and response. The BEMSP is housed within the Utah Department of Health (UDOH) Division of Family Health and Preparedness. To ensure constituent input, the BEMSP has three statutory committees, three subcommittees, and various task forces.

In Utah, the REPLICA legislation was signed into law on March 21, 2016. This made Utah the fifth state to enact the EMS Compact. Commissioner Dansie was seated to the Interstate Commission for EMS Personnel Practice at the inaugural meeting on October 11, 2017.
